Today I was introduced to the organization Nature First: The Alliance for Responsible Nature Photography. I have become a member and am dedicated to following the Nature First Principles:

• Prioritize the well-being of nature over photography.
• Educate yourself about the places you photograph.
• Reflect on the possible impact of your actions.
• Use discretion if sharing locations.
• Know and follow rules and regulations.
• Always follow Leave No Trace principles and strive to leave places better than you found them.
• Actively promote and educate others about these principles

<![CDATA[Sunflowers]]>Sat, 04 Aug 2018 00:05:06 GMThttp://johnallman.net/blog/sunflowersMy friend Brian and I had planned to go to Bogle Seeds near Milgrove, but the police had closed them down - their popularity was causing considerable traffic problems!

Instead, we ventured up to Davis Feeds in East Caledon. Their field was huge! The staff told us it would take 30 minutes to walk around it. We took much longer, spending an hour and a half taking pictures.
